Anna and Paul were new landlords to the popular village pub, a hub for people to socialise and refresh after village sporting matches. The pub needed some updating and to be brought into Anna and Paul’s vision of the type of establishment they wanted to run.
This included redecorating, reducing the carbon footprint as much as possible, introducing new portable card machines and integrating them with a new till and kitchen ordering system.
Nic was introduced to Anna and Paul through the Independent Oxford directory and community of indie businesses, of which UK Business Buddy are members.
Upgrading the POS
The main concern over the pub’s POS system was that the till was very outdated – so much so that it was no longer recognised by the helpdesk! However, whatever solution was to be found, it had to fit into a narrow width of bar space due to the brick pillars of the building.
It was also a necessity to have portable card terminals so orders could be taken at the tables and synced directly to the kitchen and payment could be taken away from the bar.
Nic sourced a beautiful, sleek till which fitted perfectly in the space and had up to date integration tech. Along with the card terminals Nic was able to tailor a new payment solution that resulted in a 20% saving over the course of the new contract.
The Oxfordshire Yeoman was happy to not disrupt their customers during Nic’s installation of the new POS equipment and changeover of the payment solutions contract, as this was all done outside of opening hours and only took a few moments to be completed.
